Hello! I am using emacs on an windows XP system, with an xming server I am connecting to two Linux Debian servers running X. As I've noted before, I use vhdl-mode extensively in emacs (in fact it's pretty much THE reason I use emacs for editing, the fundamental mode is superlative.) The speedbar in vhdl-mode is used pretty extensively as a project hierarchy list, buffer list, etc. For keeping track of the entire project it's fantastic.... więcej »

cedilla in emacs UTF-8

Dear all, I have a US keyboard, and sometimes I have to write in Portuguese, which uses c-cedilla (ç) and not accented c (ć). Since I switched to UTF-8, us_intl keyboard configuration gave the key sequence 'c the accented c instead of c cedilla. The only way I found of solving that was to edit /usr/share/X11/locale/en_US.UT F-8/Compose... więcej »

Hello, I read the info pages, the emacs wiki and tried to read vc-git.el. But I can not get any picture about what is really possible with emacs-VC & git. I was using emacs-VC with CVS for years now and i hoped that emacs-VC with git would work somehow similiar - but it does not seem so. Hi. How do I make *buffer list* appear in the same window where my cursor is ? When I press C-x b to change buffer it shows default buffer in parenthesses but this default buffer changes. On what default buffer depends ? Thanks

Hello, I'm trying to get emacs working with an IDE for FPGA development. I'm able to setup a custom editor but I need to be able to give it a command with a filename, etc. I'm using EmacsW32 because it's relatively easy to get launched on a computer without a lot of monkeying around with things like cygwin.
